Self-Help Guide
Worry Crystal Hand Massage
Your teardrop-shaped worry crystal is a beautiful tool for bringing targeted, deeper pressure to the reflex points on your hands — without placing unnecessary strain on your joints.
Why use a worry crystal?
Working the reflex points on your hands with your fingers alone can sometimes feel uncomfortable, particularly if you have sensitive joints. The smooth, rounded tip of a teardrop worry crystal lets you apply focused pressure with much greater ease and control.
The teardrop shape fits naturally into the palm, giving you a secure grip while the pointed end does the work. It is gentle enough for everyday use and can be a wonderfully calming ritual in itself.
How to use your worry crystal
Find a comfortable position
Sit quietly with both hands resting in your lap or on a table. Take a few slow breaths to settle before you begin.
Hold the crystal correctly
Wrap your fingers loosely around the wider base of the teardrop so the pointed tip faces outward. Your grip should feel relaxed, not tight.
Apply gentle, circular pressure
Use the tip to make small, slow circles over a reflex point. Begin with light pressure and gradually increase to a depth that feels therapeutic but never painful.
Work across the palm
Move methodically across the palm, thumb, and fingers. Spend a little longer on any areas that feel tender — these may correspond to parts of the body that need extra support.
Avoid the joints
Steer the crystal tip away from the knuckle joints themselves. Work the soft tissue between and around them instead, where the reflex points are found.
Finish with soothing strokes
Complete each hand by gliding the flat side of the crystal gently across the palm a few times. This helps to calm the area and signals to your body that the session is complete.
A few helpful tips
Use the AoR Hand Reflexology Map (linked on the Self-Help page) to identify which reflex points correspond to areas you'd like to support.
A small amount of Reflex Balm applied to the hand before you begin can help the crystal glide smoothly and adds the benefit of the essential oils.
Even five minutes on each hand can make a meaningful difference. Little and often is more beneficial than one long session.
If you feel any sharp or persistent discomfort, ease off the pressure or stop and rest.
